From March 22nd to November 24th, Galerie Negropontes is celebrating the opening of its new space in Venice with a double inaugural exhibition titled Armonia Metis, a veritable ode to diversity, métissage and multidisciplinarity, which will be displayed on the two floors of the Palazzina Masieri that the gallery occupies. Witnessing the fusion of multicultural influences and artistic disciplines, the ground floor features works by all the gallery’s artists. On the first floor, delicate glass sculptures by the creative duo Perrin & Perrin interact with contemporary works by the artist Mircea Cantor.

You are welcomed into the world of Armonia Metis on the ground floor, where the gallery’s artists – Ulrika Liljedahl, Erwan Boulloud, Perrin & Perrin, Mauro Mori, Benjamin Poulanges and Étienne Moyat – offer a mosaic of styles, materials and themes that blur the traditional boundaries of art. Through their art, each of them demonstrates that cultures meet and mix to create works that are profoundly contemporary and universal.

Ulrika Liljedahl is inspired by nature. Using a variety of materials, she brings her turquoise Amazonite Presence to life, evoking distant landscapes. Erwan Boulloud’s Fétiche cabinet combines the odd with the humorous in compositions of varied materials. Martine and Jacki Perrin explore light and transparency in glass, their favourite medium. Mauro Mori presents sculptures made from solid blocks of wood or stone, in harmony with nature’s organic environment. Benjamin Poulanges creates a dialogue between classical form and dynamic instability. Finally, Étienne Moyat pays tribute to nature through his wood sculptures, each piece telling the unique story of its material. Photographs of Brancusi’s works by Dan Er Grigorescu testify to his perfect mastery of blacks and contrasts and respond to Éric de Dormael’s majestic Black Line sculpture. Gianluca Pacchioni’s sculptures enveloped in light complete the exhibition.

More than an exhibition, Armonia Metis is a dialogue between contemporary artists, each bringing their unique voice to a global conversation on art, culture and society. A celebration of contemporary art in all its diversity and interconnectedness, the exhibition reflects the spirit of the Palazzina and the Masieri Foundation and its commitment to art and knowledge.
