From June 25, Galerie Negropontes Paris invites you to cruise the Grand Canal of Venice with its summer exhibition “Sérénissime”. A few months after the opening of its new space in the Palazzina Masieri, an emblematic 17th-century building and Venetian architectural jewel, Galerie Negropontes continues to pay tribute to the City of the Doges, bringing together in-house and guest artists in a show that highlights works as metaphors for the city’s soul.

With the rhythm of water and the splendor of Venice as its common thread, the “Sérénissime” exhibition is a metaphor of the lagoon and a representation of the quintessence of the city. Garo Minassian’s photographs capture the gorgeous reflections of the palazzi. The duo Perrin & Perrin, in association with the savoir-faire of Maison Pinton, present a carpet like a map showing the myriad islands that constitute Venice. A series of paintings by Benjamin Poulanges, like ancient ink dissolving in water, invites visitors to cruise along the Venetian canals.

Several artists punctuate this summer walk with pieces reflecting the baroque luxury of the Serenissima. Étienne Moyat’s sculpted panel, like a white wall of mother-of-pearl, creates a dialogue with Eric de Dormael’s gilded witch mirror, Perrin & Perrin’s amber or golden sculptures and Mauro Mori’s marble ones. Milanese designer Gianluca Pacchioni offers several jewelry pieces, including his Cremino side table, a precious ring, his Cusi Bliss III coffee table and a moiré Venetian fabric. Dreamlike sculptures by Ulrika Liljedhal and Jean-Christophe Malaval complete this imaginary journey.

After a first exhibition in Paris that mirrored the one in Venice, this new exhibition continues to build bridges between Venice and Paris, fortifying the unfailing link between the two spaces at Galerie Negropontes.
