To kick-off the gallery’s 10th anniversary year, Sophie Negropontes presents a selection of unique pieces by Hervé Langlais showcasing the seven collections developed in partnership with the gallery over the past decade.
Pure lines, precious materials, meticulously crafted works, Hervé Langlais and Sophie Negropontes share a common aesthetic sensitivity that is in keeping with the French Decorative Arts. In this vein, Hervé Langlaishas designed pieces inspired by a quest for beauty and the sublimation of materials; pieces in which the blending of simple or complex forms reveal the natural contrasts of precious woods, the veining of stone, the radiance of brass or the depth of lacquer.
The ten pieces on display including the Ciel et Terre mirror, Plumage cabinet and Overhung console, highlight a decade of friendship and artistic collaboration between the two, as well as the wealth and diversity of Hervé Langlais’ creative universe.
