Mouvements
Mouvements opens on January 19th 2024.
Conceived as an ode to artistic transformation, this exhibition celebrates the artist’s impulse as the initial movement, the genesis of all creation, where matter undergoes metamorphosis to give life to art.
Perrin & Perrin’s Flip Flap installation perfectly embodies this spirit, showcasing elements that gracefully ascend to perch on a wall, one bearing resemblance to a leaf gently alighting on a sideboard created by fellow artist Erwan Boulloud. The interaction between the work and its environment creates a visual harmony that emphasises the weightlessness and fluidity of movement.
Erwan Boulloud’s vibrating bronze and concrete sideboards are characterised by precious craquelure, symbolising the richness and beauty emanating from the transformation of matter.
Saccadic rhythm can be found in Daniel Humair’s paintings, in Etienne Moyat’s sculptural panels and in Gianluca Pacchioni’s Collapse bookcase. These works, with their interrupted gestures, instil a visual dynamic that punctuates the exhibition.
The Toscane rug by Maison Pinton adds a musical dimension to the exhibition. Inspired by a Perrin & Perrin ink design it creates the impression of a dancing landscape, inviting reverie.
Like ballerinas suspended on a musical note, Gianluca Pacchioni’s Creminos capture a moment of grace and elegance, while Benjamin Poulages’ canvases, with their bright luminous streams, evoke the fluidity and constancy of movement.
Finally, Mauro Mori’s Movimento and Red Variation, and Ulrika Liljedahl’s Présence use wood, marble, copper and horsehair to create undulations of material that defy the traditional boundaries of art.
“Mouvements is an invitation to discover how the artist, through gesture and material, creates a world in which every element is in perpetual transformation, reflecting the vitality and diversity of life itself”.
